    Hi. I wanted to update my OpenDSS-G software. However, I have trouble installing the latest version (V5203). The error message is shown below:

      I think I've seen this error before, can't recall when/where. Let me ask you this:

      1. Is your operating system 64 bit?
      2. Do you have DSS-G already installed in your PC?
      3. If so, what version do you have installed?

    Hi Davis. My OS is 64-bit and I am currently using the Version 5.0.1.6 of DSS-G. I am also using OpenDSS Version 9.8.0.1 (64-bit build).

      Hello,

      I gave it a try on a brand new laptop with Windows 11 Home installed, no issues found. So it seems that the issue could be local. Let me ask you this: Did you run the installer by right clicking on it and selecting the option "Run as administrator"? If not, give it a try.
      If still you have problems, you can update the product manually. For this, the executable files are available here:

      https://sourceforge.net/p/dssimpc/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/Distribution/
      From this directory download OpenDSSG.exe and Start.exe, then, replace them in the local installation folder (normally C:\ProgramData\OpenDSS-G).

      Then go here:https://sourceforge.net/p/dssimpc/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/Distribution/Sub-VIs/Database/.
      From this directory download DB-BASE.db (not the .FDB). And replace it at C:\ProgramData\OpenDSS-G\Sub-VIs\Database.

      Finally, go here: https://sourceforge.net/p/dssimpc/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/Distribution/data/.
      From this directory, download OpenDSSDirect.dll and replace it at C:\ProgramData\OpenDSS-G\data.

      With that you should have successfully updated your version of OpenDSS-G manually.

        By the way, prior to my first installation attempt, I chose the "Run as Administrator" option. I will try to update the old version manually. I'll get back to you after. Thanks.

        Hi Davis. I was able to download the "Start.exe" file but not the OpenDSSG.exe. It says it's forbidden, as shown below:

          Hello,

          You can try by cloning the repository, for that. I normally use TortoiseSVN (https://tortoisesvn.net/downloads.html). However, we also have a backup in the cloud in case you want to go straight and download the files needed at once: https://epri.box.com/s/j7woxl6jf23brmyqvxtwief0k85yy2e8.
