Hello,
I am using OpenDSS-G 64-bit version 6.10.1 on a laptop running Windows 11 Pro, version 10.0.22631. The software was installed using the default settings.
When I enter the kVAs and kVs values, then click the "Check" option, followed by the "Apply" option, the data automatically changes by adding extra zeros to the correct values I originally entered.
Additionally, the dot key on the keyboard does not allow data to be entered in these fields; it appears to be disabled for entering values.
Please see the attached image for reference. Could you kindly assist me with this issue?
Yes, this is an issue related to the regional configuration. OpenDSS by default uses the dot character (.) as decimal separator. OpenDSS-G on the other hand, uses the local computer configuration, in your case since your laptop is using comma (,). This results confusing for OpenDSS. Sorry abut that. The solution is quite simple, you'll have to change your language settings in Windows and set the dot character as the decimal number separator. This is explained here:
Dear Davis,
The keyboard reconfiguration works well—thank you for that. However, I have noticed a new issue when introducing new elements to the electric system and saving the project. DSS-G automatically creates a new directory named "sub" to store some of the original files being imported from OpenDSS.
In this specific case of the new transformer was added to the system. When I attempt to edit it using the Inspector option, DSS-G throws the error shown in the attached image. I also observed that there are two transformer .dss files: one in the "sub" directory containing the original transformer files, and another upstream with the script for the new transformer
Could you kindly assist me in resolving this issue?
The sub folder is created when there is an energy meter present in the model. OpenDSS/OpenDSS-G will create a sub-folder with the name of the Energy Meters within the model, and in these folders you'll find the elements within the meter's zone ( see https://opendss.epri.com/MeterZones.html ).
For the error you are getting, it is normally given that the model hasn't been solved by the time the query was performed. For that, I would solve the model first and then try the query again.
I hope this helps, let me know if it works.
Best regards,

I'm glad it worked. Remember to give us a review here https://sourceforge.net/projects/dssimpc/reviews/ . Also, there are other options for helping you work on your model like the DSSG scripting tool:

After that close and launch again DSS-G, that should do it.
Best regards,
We'll fix this issue in our next release.

Dear Davis, Ok, it works very well!
Thank you for your support, and congratulations on creating such a valuable tool for visualization and learning
