Hello,
When I try to install the latest version of OpenDSS-G V5016, i get the following error:
"This installer requires Windows 10 64-bit (Version 1607) or newer"
My computer have the following windows specifications:
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 22H2
Installed on 5/23/2023
OS build 22621.2283
Serial number PF3JDSWQ
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22662.1000.0
What can I do to install?

Mmmm, this is unexpected. We can try the following:
Right click on the installer and select the option "Properties" from the popup menu.
In the window that shows up, go to the "Compatibility" tab, there, click on the checkbox "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows 10".
Also, click on the checkbox "Run this program as an administrator".
Let's see if that does the magic.
Best regards,
Davis

Hello Davis,
What I ended up doing was moving the install file to my desktop and it downloaded. The problem I'm encountering now after a computer reset are the following:
(Please see attached for pictures)
When i open as administrator, the program opens and is loading, and after x amount of time, it closes and nothing happens.
When i open reguarly, a error stating OepnDSSG encountered a problem and needs to close. IT creates a report which i also attached but not much information is on it.
Sorry to hear that. I haven't tried the new installer in a Windows 11 machine. We had some trouble with the latest LabVIEW version from NI (2023 Q3) and we had to roll back to 2023 Q1. Are you installing the product on the default folder "C\ProgramData" or are you changing the destination? We can try by reinstalling the program in its default destination.
In the meantime, I'll setup a test environment in Windows 11 to see how it behaves. Sorry again for the inconvenience.
Best regards,
Davis

Yes i am installing on the default folder. I tried running the program in compatibility mode for Windows 7, 8, and 9 and was unsuccessful. I noticed from the manual, After installation was completed and successful, i was unable to go to the next step for the firebird installation. I will try downloading Firebird separately to see if this will work.

Please don't waste your time with Firebird. I'm afraid the documentation is out-of-date, and Firebird is no longer required since version 3.6. I'll let you know if I find anything. BTW, I didn't know there was a Windows 9...
best regards
Davis

I have both, good and bad news for you: The good news is that after installing OpenDSS-G on a laptop with Windows 11 and on a virtual environment with Windows 11 as well, it worked great. The bad news is that it seems that the problem is local, and I cannot help much if that's the case.
I would check if your antivirus or firewall are probably messing with the program, you see, DSS-G uses TCP connections to talk to everybody, and protection programs don't like it very much. This has happened before and I think someone found a workaround, check this out:
