In opendss-G we are running the 33 bus system, with 4 reclosers, 1 main cb from the main v source to the whole main feeder, and 5 tie switches connected with correct status and function, however in a normal case if we open the main_recloser this means the whole system shall no longer have voltage, currents, power, nothing. However we do not see that effect when we open the Main_recloser or any recloser.
The simulation we are running it in these settings: Mode: Time, step size 1h, control mode: time.
and we run the automatic simulation of 1000ms (1s)
Looking forward to your reply.

The issue apparently persists even in the new version (which by the way I am loving this new version sooo far ! Thank you so much.)
My guessing is the simulation settings I am setting. I need a dynamic load flow with a change in 1 second, the only way we could have seen changes in values was if we make it Time mode with a step time of 1 hour because of our loadflow being a daily one.
We really need your help on this.

mmmm, yes, that panel. That one is still under review since we are planning to change it. Try by opening the OpenDSS console and send the following command:
Open Line.XYZ 1
Where XYZ is the name of the switch you want to open. To close it back, use the following command:
Close Line.XYZ 1
I'm working on the switch panel today and should have it ready by the end of the day, so check tomorrow morning at the source forge folder for the new Beta.
Best regards

Thank you for the quick response, however I tried with the DSS Console, but no effect on de-energizing the lines, I have the main_cb (recloser) which is in case if I opened it, every load (node) will be de-energized.
Looking forward to your reply, also I would like to get a feedback about choosing a load profile for the 33-bus system, is a daily 24 hours load profile sufficient to have the dynamics of a system ? or should we consider one in seconds, because the way the simulation is running is that 1 second is considered 1 hour in real life.

Dhiaa.

There must be something in your circuit that prevents the system to be de-energized. Share your model and we'll discuss it.
For the load shapes, have check on these:
Yes, there was an issue in your model, for some reason you connected a line in parallel to the main_cb, so, no matter if you try to open/close it, the circuit will be always energized. Replace the files attached within your model, that will solve the issues.
I've just uploaded another Beta for DSS-G v3, in this Beta I've updated the switch panel. To change the state of a switch just double click on the name. You'll find some other interesting tools within this new panel. The Beta is available at:
It is workiing perfectly Dear Davis, thank you sooo much.
One more thing, the DSTCP is only working with port 6345 , at first it used to work with 6345-6350, I would like if the possible port numbers is multiple, I have to run the simulation in parallel with different applications if possible, meaning I need to run the simulation on 6345 and different applications in different port numbers.
This change is only on this version, version 2 used to have multiple possible port numbers.
Looking forward to your reply, and it is such a great honor for me to be among the firsts to test the beta version.

That's part of the improvements in version 3, you don't need more ports, all the connections can be done through port 6345. In fact, in version 3 you can check who is connected, go to Analysis -> TCP monitor. Now you don't have to select the number of ports, everyhting will happen automatically.
Check it, and let me know how it works.

Davis

Hello,
You may want to try with version 3, please download the beta version from here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/dssimpc/files/Installer/OpenDSSG_V30138B.exe/download
Let's see if the issue persists.
Best regards
Davis
Finallyyy Dear Davis, We have been dyiing for this version to come !
I am going to try it and let you know.

Hello,
In that case it could be because of the way you are changing the switch status. Could you please tell me how are you doing it?
Best regards
Davis
Hello,
I use the automation window you have, and then switching pannel, there is a list of all our reclosers and switches, and we click to open or close.
Best Regards,
Dhiaa.

Hello Davis,
Please find attached the model.
I shall delete it from this ticket after some minutes for some reasons.
Best Regards,

let me know once you got it please.

Got it.

The files attached correct the circuit in terms of switches. Now when you open/close any swtich/recloser everything should work fine.

Davis
Dear Davis,
I really appreciate verifying the model, however I still have some issues.
I run the simulation by:
1- going to sim mode
2- selecting settings: mode = time, step = 1h
3- go to automation and pick automatic progress
it stays running normally, until I add a monitor for example and suddenly the switches become run meaning they become closed ! for no reason !
Knowing that I downloaded the very latest version of the beta that you launched today.
Looking forward for your reply.
Best Regards,
Dhiaa.
Hello,
Just uploaded a new Beta (3.0.1.43), download it, it should solve this issue.
Please confirm if it works.

Ow I see, It is running in a perfect way, I will get back to you in case of any errors or something comes up.
I would like to personally thank you so much for the hard work and the new enhanced version.
