Hi! community, I just downloaded OpenDSS-G, but is not even openning it! I already tried the troubleshooting steps that was here on the discussion; like uninstall firebird, and firebird driver, but stills with the sale error! Help
Hi Davis, I appreciate your quick response, I already did all the troubleshotting steps that was on the video, unfortunately now I have another error. I have already rebooted my pc few times, also reinstall the firebird but the issue stills happening.
This is a very weird error, for some reason the database cannot run, it happened to a user a couple of months ago. The solution was to uninstall the database (just the database, not the ODBC or OpenDSS-G), and reinstall it in a different folder (in that case we install it in C:\Firebird), that solved the problem. When installing the database, you can change the destination folder.
Please let me know how it goes.

I wasn't totally sure what to do, I just reinstalled the OpendDSS-G, also with all the firebirds programs and the database (who i think is the one that you asked to me) in the folder C:\Firebird but stills with the same error :/
I did a little change on the database access so we don't have to request access to the localhost domain. To test it, download the executable from here:
Then, replace this file in your local OpenDSS-G installation (Normally at C:\Program Files\OpenDSS-G). Don't uninstall anything. Let's see how it works.

I had the same problem (same error message at the installation stage).
However, after I uninstalled everything installed and reinstalled the
software, it was resolved. Once, I installed it under compatibility mode
(by accident), but at last the final installation (on Windows 10 - Surface
Book) happened correctly removing that.

It doesn't install once again after that I uninstalled it.
It keeps saying "This installation requires Windows 7 service pack 1 or later".
What should be done?

However, it seems that it has bugs.
The Sourcebus disappers when defining a substation! I tried it several times.
I tried reinstallation too, but this time it keeps saying:
This installation needs Windows 7 service pack 1 or later!
while I installed it once on my Wondows 10.
That's not a bug, a new bus remains visible until it gets connected to something, to see the buses and their names all the time just right click on the black screen and select show element names, that will bring them back.
For the error you are getting right click on the installer and go to properties, there, select security and remove the compatibility option that is probably checked, that should solve the issue.
Let me know how it works.
