Yes you can integrate and control DSSim-PC froman external application using almost any software. DSSim-PC incorporates a TCP server that allows other applications to command and control DSSim-PC as well as send commands directly to OpenDSS. Since version 1.0 DSSim-PC has had this sever and the documentation is avaiable. We have some instructions added recently that I need to add to the documentation.
In the past I've developed a NI LabVIEW and MATLAB libraries as examples for this libraries using the most commonly used software packages in Electrical Engineering (Talking about MATLAB of course). Please find the documentation here:
