Well, I'm writing here because I can find no links for support at the Dungeon Seige main site.
Hoping this will get some attention and... well, support.
I bought DS the other day (Friday) and installed it. When I first ran it everything looked beautiful
but was very quiet. I had run EverQuest without rebooting the machine and thought that maybe
EQ had not let go of some resources, so, I rebooted and tried again... still no sound. I found the
debug executables and ran the no sound version and got no sound (well, it was worth an effort
though I'm sure it's intended to run without sound to see if there is a conflict). Long and short is
summed up by the summary above: I've got no sound and it makes for a boring game... sorry, but,
I'm one of those few people who are used to aural feedback.
My system:
PIII 933eMHz Processor on an ASUS CUSL2C Main board
NVidia GeForce 3 64M Video card
SoundBlaster Live! Platinum Soundboard
512M RAM
3Com 3c595 Ethernet card
IBM 60G drive (with 2 other spare drives)
Pioneer 116s DVD (40/16speed)
IDE controller card (don't remember the name brand)
Windows ME
I've got a slew of games that run fine on this machine, so, I'm comfortable in saying there is no
problem with the hardware (EverQuest, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, CivIII, Alpha Centauri,
Mechwarrior 4, Might and Magic VIII and IX to name a few).
My email address is gnarl@charter.net
I'll gladly take any assistance you can provide (including forwarding me to the correct location for
this request).

Here is the faq for Dungeon Siege in the MS support base.
It contains quite a few fixes. I can't get past the freeze
at the intro (black screen with white dots in bottom left
corner) and the resolution hasn't helped. Good luck.
