    I've gone through the setup twice with SSH and WinCVS. I just don't get how they work together.
    I gather SSH is basically a secure telnet session, in fact I can connect sourceforge through the ssh command line. But setting up WinCVS to connect is odd to me. Am I supposed to see our source directories? Isn't it supposed to connect to our sub directories on sourceforge?
    Maybe it's my password file, am I pointing it to the correct location, that area of the help was a little grey. Plase help. Otherwise I will just post my stuff on the internet or email it to you.
    Basically what I am saying I need a short description of WinCVS. Kinda sucks having to tellyou guys this, me being a net guy and everything, but I never needed to use CVS before.
    Thanks for any help,
    Joe

      you are right about SSH - just a secure telnet.

      You will not see anything in WinCVS until after you pull down the 'dsdevguild' module.
      (Create -> Checkout module)

      Make sure you SSH into CVS before trying to pull the module down.  I've updated the Getting Started guide (in the Doc Manager) with a few reminders on the setup.

      WinCVS (www.wincvs.org) is an easy to use CVS client.  CVS versions your files on the server, and keeps a local copy on your machine.  Are you having problems with the configuration ( Admin -> Preferences )?

      Thanks for the info Charles, I will work on it a little more to see if I can get it going.

      If anyone else gets CVS setup correctly, help me to 'complete' the Getting Started guide.  This is not an easy process to setup WinCVS for SourceForge, so everyone take notes as you go through and help me update the Getting Started guide!

      Thanks!!!!
