#101 Line Endings Should Not Be A Problem

DrPython complains about line endings that are not
consistent with the default. It asks to change them
even on files which should be treated as read-only
(such as wxPython and other site modules).

So far as I can tell there is no need for DrPython to
be concerned about line endings. If files are opened in
text rather than binary mode Python deals with them
transparently As is often the case with Python it has a
very clean design. In this case it uses \n internally
and the OS specific ending (\n, \r\n or \r) externally.

You could disable the check box under Preferences => General
=> Check Line Ending on open.

    Does that help?

I have now prepared a patch to correct this problem which
seems to be due to a misunderstanding about how Python works.
