I've been using dropit since a looong time ago. Now with a new machine (core i7, 12GB, SSD), it takes half an hour to check association matches for a mere 270 files. And sometimes it crashes.

When it crashes, a window with AutoIt title says "Error allocating memory." with an OK button.

The software is made on AUTOIT and its development is stopped. thus you cannot get any technical solution to it.

In my case , I was using dropit for sorting my Image files and Video Files. I have more then 50,000 files having about more than 150GB. (Please note depending on which file you are using to sort from dropit solution varies)

Error allocating memory problem - Try this below solution

The problem lies in the EXIF Data of some Images. When you enconter the "Error Allocating Memory" problem, skip that folder and then try next folder.

If there are many files in that folder try splitting the folder into 5-6 parts and then try each splitted folder individually. Skip the folder which gives you memory problem and sort remaining. At last you will be having folders which gives you memory problem error.

Again do the same process of splitting the folder or now check the files in a bunch of 10-20 files each untill you reach the defected file. When you find defective files then sort them manually.

      Hope it solves the problem.

As for slow speed on a new machine (core i7, 12GB, SSD). Check the file type which are being checked for example image files contains metadata and to read according to the associations made by you it will take some time. Also some metadata causes "Error Memory Allocation" thus reading is slow.

Please mention which file type and association you are using
