Windows 10

Based on the instructions linked below, I have tried monitoring my Desktop folder but have "Process folders and not scan them" checked to prevent scanning subfolders. If I do that, it tries to process the monitored folder Desktop, instead of scanning its contents. If I uncheck it, then it tries to scan not only Desktop but all subfolders as well.

I just want it to scan the files on the surface level of the Desktop folder, thats it.

I have exactly the same issue.

    OS: Windows 10 Pro x64
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500x
    RAM: 8gb Single-Channel 2133 Mhz
    Version: Fresh installation of 8.5.1.

I just found and installed this program so maybe I don't know how it's supposed to work, but I also am experiencing similar limitations. For reference, I'm trying to setup a self-sorting folder system using the folder monitoring feature on "Immediate on-change", but when it moves a file to a subfolder it then recognizes that as a change and tries to move it again, conflicting with itself.

I've tried using the exact instructions in the link above to ignore subfolders with ## as the only folder modifier, "*.pdf" or "*.txt" as the file modifier, and selecting "Process folders and not scan them". Not only does that not work, the option doesn't seem to do anything at all for me.

Interestingly, changing the monitoring folder filepath from my username directly to %UserName% seems to make it outright stop monitoring the folder, even though it seems like it should work and does so with the destination filepath in the association. Might be that it's passing an odd version of the filepath to the scan function that strips the "Process folders and not scan them" parameter, but I have no idea.

I've also tried many other combinations of settings including but not limited to: setting on and off "Process folders and not scan them" and "Scan subfolders and not try to process them" both globally and per profile, using ## both as a separate association, as "/##" in a separate rule, and as part of the sorting rule itself (ie. "##\*.pdf" which fails outright whether used with an ignore "**" association or not) as well as trying to use "/**" to ignore all folders [no affect]), specifically attempting to ignore the sort destination folder itself using either an ignore association with the folder path or a "/(folder path)" rule on the end of the sorting association, and various combinations of all three methods.

I've tested this in both the default downloads folder and in a folder on the desktop. The only non-default settings are, "Ignore files if in use by other programs", and "Confirm for Delete actions" and it's a fresh install of 8.5.1.

Profile Backup and LogFile are attached.

Okay, did some more testing, and it seems to be specific to the "Immediate on-change" option, which may explain why it doesn't appear in previous versions. Everything appears to work fine and normal with the time interval option, but "Immediate on-change" causes both the subfolder option to stop working and using %UserName% in place of my user name causes it to stop monitoring at all. Confirmed that it's the same for the portable version.

Can you please tell us the ETA of the resolution?

Same problem. It ends up moving a file from the main folder to the subfolder, which triggers a scan and then moves the file from the subfolder to the subfolder, creating an infinite loop (the name of the file just gets longer and longer because of the 01 appended everytime).
Have followed the instruction on the link, with the option checked and the association added, does not help.

I have the same problem, after upgrading to Win 10 x64 and doing a fresh install of 8.5.1,
So not sure if it's the 8.5.1 version of a OS at fault.
