A model import jar has been uploaded to be able to import models. Just download it, put it where You have extracted the rule editor application and run.
For detailed instructions, please consult the documentation
A new version is up. This is a final 1.0.0 version. The previous branches have unfortunately been discontinued because of various reasons, primarely concerning the limited user experience the application provided, but also many bugs the versions had.
This version offers various new features and many improvements on the old features. These include plugin support, docking interface etc.
The rule writing has also been somewhat changed. This version offers the use of quantifiers, comparison between different fields etc. The data preparation model of the graph and the logic model (rule writing graph) have been completely separated for this reason.
Documentation has also been written for this version, although not the complete documentation (this is a still ongoing process).... read more
We just uploaded version 0.9.0 of the editor.
This could finally be version 1.0.0 but we should put some new features in it plus we need to get cracking at the documentation.
This is very very close to what the final version will be and it's coming soon (really) so hang tight....
This version offers some really great (at least we think so) features, to name just a few:
- improved view options - basic dockable framework has been implemented through the use of the great spring rich and
flexdock frameworks (thanks guys ;)
- then node is now a plugin - develop through two simple interfaces whatever kind of action you want (send mail and so forth)
- parsing to drools (primary), hql/sql, oracle (experimental)
- simple rule flow control
- fast testing with hql/sql
- (perhaps the most important one of all) rule creation done completely visually
....
This version has already been succesfully deployed to one of our clients and they have already created more than a hundred rules
with this tool that are currently working in the production environment. (meaning, it works :)).... read more

We just uploaded version 0.2 of the editor.
This one features some additional types of rule creation/editing and a new (nicer) look in addition with new version of testing and new view ("Visualization view").
Unfortenately save command doesn't work right now but we are in a big hurry to make it work (it works for visualization view).
Any comments, suggestions etc. are greatly appreciated.
Today we celebrate the big download number: 250, the quarter of a thousand. In addition we'd like to announce the development of new features in the editor that we have foretold will be made available in the future: fuzzy integration. We have been planning for this for a long while now and today, finally, we completed the necessery steps to integrate it. Now we're just doing the finishing touches as well as new form of rule creation in decision tables together with some sort of EL (expression language). All of this will be available in the next release which is scheduled sometime next month.
We are very happy to announce the first version of the drools rule editor. It's more or less completely graphical for ease of use. In addition it can be used for other rule engines, not only drools.
This first version is not what we are aiming for. We are already preparing some major upgrades, including (but not limited to) plugin support.
The documentation is still scarce, since we're pressed for time, but something is already here and more is coming very soon.
The thing we were aiming for was ease of use and simplicity and hope we achieved just that.
