#262 JVM failed to start. Make sure a firewall is not blocking
Whenever I try to run my complied programs on Dr. Java, I get this error message in the interactions and consloe pane:

I'm running on a MacOSX Version 10.5.8, 2.1 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, with memory of 1GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM. What do you suggest I do?

Hi. I am having the exact same problem on Debian/Linux. Wasn't sure if I should start a new thread or add to this one.

On my Debian squeeze laptop, DrJava worked fine until i decided to prevent the networking daemon from starting automatically at boot by typing the command "sudo chkconfig networking off". After a reboot, DrJava started having the same problem whenever I try to start a simple "Hello World" program:

I've been able to solve this problem using "sudo /etc/init.d/networking start" before starting DrJava. I can then stop the networking daemon and DrJava will just work fine, even after restarting it.
