Hello. Love your app. I am teaching a HS programming course using Alice and Dr. Java. We are using Dr. Java version: drjava-20090821-r5004 on PCs with Windows XP pro with JDK 6 update 6.. All students have a network folder. They run Dr. Java from the jar file stored in their network folder.

Is there a way to change the working directory to be a folder in their network drive? Currently the default directory is mapped to the local myDocuments folder on the machines C drive. I tried looking in preferences, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to set this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Don Yanek

Currently, we only support setting the working directory if you create a project. When you do that, you can enter a working directory in the Project Properties (Project menu, Project Properties).

I have created a feature request for a working directory setting in the Preferences:
2888809: Interactions Working Directory Preference for Flat-File Mode
    https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2888809&group_id=44253&atid=438938

This feature is now available in our latest weekly jar which can be downloaded at:
    http://www.cs.rice.edu/~javaplt/drjavarice/weekly/

Please let us know if this solves your problem.

    Implemented as of revision 5128.

There is a directory preference in the Preferences, Interactions category. It is only used in flat-file mode, not in project mode. If it is not set, then the source root of the document run is used.
