I am running Windows XP. I have downloaded the Windows compatable Dr. Java. It downloads alright, but when I try to run it, I see the logo and then nothing happens.
I have also tried the jar file, but I get an error each time I try to run it.

If you have administrative control over your machine, I suggest re-installing the Java JDK (either 5.0 or 6.0) available at http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp.
Thank you so much. That got Dr. Java to open, but now when I try to compile anything, it says there is no compiler. Any ideas as to how to fix this?
Hi Elise:
Are you sure you have the Java Development Kit (JDK) installed, and not just the Java Runtime Environment (JRE)? You need the JDK.
If you have the JDK installed and DrJava still cannot find the compiler, you can go to the "Edit" menu in DrJava, select "Preferences", and in the "Resource Locations" category, enter a "Tools.jar Location". Click on the "..." button, and find the tools.jar file. It should be in the lib directory in the place where you installed the JDK.
Please let us know if this helps.
I re-installd the JDK in case I had installed the wrong one the first time. No change.
I located a tools.jar file in another version of Java editor/compiler I have just as you said. Still no change.
