Summary: can not compile with JDK 5.0?

Initial Comment:
I have the JDK 5.0 installed (newest release) from the java website.  I try to compile a javaclass and I get this error.  I have no clue how to fix it..does anyone know what this means?

Error: cannot access SimpleTurtle
bad class file: C:\bookClasses-8-21-06\SimpleTurtle.class
class file has wrong version 50.0, should be 49.0
Please remove or make sure it appears in the correct subdirectory of the classpath.
