Initial Comment:
the attached source file will compile in full java, but
gives back a null pointer exception with no source
location when compiled in beginner level.

this bug came up when running 1.4.2_2 on a mac, and
1.4.2_5 on a pc (win xp)


to reproduce the bug:
open drjava. load file. set level to elementary. compile.
