Initial Comment:
I am getting a 

An exception occurred in the event handler:
edu.rice.cs.util.UnexpectedException:
edu.rice.cs.drjava.model.debug.DebugException: The
debugInterpreter: 355 could not be obtained from
interpreterJVM The debugger may have become unstable as
a result.

(note that the number 355 changes upon every invocation
of the program)

when I run certain code in dubug mode AND have a
breakpoint set *somewhere* (it would seem the actual
placement does not matter) within that code.

I can't paste the code because its company code;
however, if you can fill me in on this exception I
might be able to write similar code that induces the error.
