Summary: Redefinition exception on java 1.4.2
Initial Comment:
The namevisitor is run before the typechecker, and
leaves the variable v, in the below code as defined, after
the TypeChecker denies the declaration, because 1.5
features arent allowed in java 1.4, unless you have the
jsr14.
Problem arises from:
(using java 1.4.2, no jsr)
import java.util.Vector;
Vector<String> v = new Vector<String>();
//to which it responds: WrongVersionException:
//Generics are not supported before Java 1.5
Now try:
Vector v = new Vector();
This will yield: Error: Redefinition of V
v.add("someString");
IllegalStateException: v
