Summary: Line Numbers Lag When Scrolling
Initial Comment:
When scrolling through a document with Line Number Enumeration turned on, the numbers seem to lag behind the main document. The scrolling process is disorienting, because the numbers and the text are continually shifting relative to each other. This behavior is especially dramatic on Mac OS X, where the redraw speed isn't so hot. I estimate a half-second delay between moving the body and moving the line numbers. This happens in the Metal LAF as well as under Aqua. The problem also exists on Solaris over X11, but isn't as bad.
