The user hits the hotkey for a search, types in her
search string, checks the search backwards box, and
when the search is executed, the search moves backwards
through the document.
New story but closely related: the user binds a hotkey
in the preferences menu to represent searching in
reverse. Now when that key, perhaps C-r, is pressed
the search dialog comes up with the search in reverse
box already checked.

This is a great example of how to write a user story. However, please
take the time to look through the existing feature requests first-- this is
a duplicate of 586703 ("find previous"). Of course, that happens to be
a perfect example of how *not* to write a user story, so I'm going to
leave this one open and close the other. In the future, though... :)
(I'm also going to reclassify the category from Interactions to
Definitions, since it has more to do with the source editor than the
Interactions Pane.)

I am going to take over this feature request. Also, in
reference to the original comment, I realized that if there
is a "search backwards" key, there should probably also be a
"search forwards" key and a "search" key which searches in
the same direction as the last search.

I have implemented searching in reverse. I will leave this
feature request open, however, because I have not
implemented searching forwards and backwards key bindings.

Just updating the title to reflect that reverse searches are
finished and keybindings are desired.

I'm just updating the assignee to none to reflect that I am
not currently an active DrJava developer.
