Thanks for the tip, Rich. I suspected that I was missing some kernel module source, and I installed the RPM from the source disc in the distro, but obviously that wasn't quite the same as the one on disc 2. :) (I'll have to figure out what the difference is...) Anyhoo, so I got through the build, installed the results, and restarted X. Given the information in the Help/FAQ, I pre-emptively checked glxinfo to see what was up. Big surprise, no dri module loaded. So I took a look at XF86Config - two questions. 1) I have two files: XF86Config and XF86Config-4. Who wins? 2) XF86Config has no modules section, while the -4 file does. I grafted the modules section (which included a dri module load) from the -4 file into the main file, but nothing changed after I restarted X. Any suggestions? Sorry for the inane newbie prattle, but this is my first time manually monkeying w/ X. On the upside, I'm taking notes of where I've gotten stuck, and will be happy to contribute to the FAQ. :) - larry Rich 'Forge' Mingin wrote: > > I may be wrong, but this looks very similar to an issue the NV drivers have > on Redhat 7.1.
