Hello, I'm currently running Ubuntu Linux on an IBM T20 (Thinkpad) notebook. The graphics card inside it is an S3 Savage IX and I'm looking to setup DRI support. I was initially informed that DRI comes installed with Ubuntu but shortly thereafter realized that even if it did, it didn't seem to be supporting my card. I checked the Wiki on DRI's site and it claims to support the card. My xorg.conf seems to be in order, the graphics card is defined properly, and there's a short section in there setting DRI's mode to 0666. However, when I run ./glxinfo it says that direct rendering support is a no-go, as does ./xdriinfo which reports - "Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0". Screen 0: not direct rendering capable." Any help would be appreciated, I'm lost as to what to try. Thank you, Joseph Bleau --=20 Life is but a beta version of hell. |
