Jason, your XFree86.0.log shows that you're running a 2D driver without DRI support: (II) SAVAGE: driver (version 1.1.27mh) for S3 Savage chipsets: Savage4, It should be: (II) SAVAGE: driver (version 1.1.27a) for S3 Savage chipsets: Savage4, Did you run "make install" successfully? As for the chipset-specific AGP driver, run lspci and look for the manufacturer of your AGP bridge.
