Have Radeon 9100 Rehat9.0 Got vanilla source for 2.4.21 from kernel.org and recomiled a new kernel. Found out DRI.SF.NET could let me play Quake on this ATI piece of crap. Downloaded radeon-20030813-linux.i386.tar.bz2 Tried Install.sh Got up to the point of....... DIRECT RENDERING OPEN SOURCE PROJECT - DRIVER INSTALLATION SCRIPT [ http://dri.sourceforge.net ] ========================================================================== The script will now compile the DRM kernel modules for your machine. Press ENTER to continue or CTRL-C to exit. Compiling... ERROR: Kernel modules did not compile The DRI drivers can not be installed without the latest kernel modules. Installation will be---Blah blah blah, check dri.log Dri.log says,,,, Makefile.linux:136: *** Cannot find a kernel config file --=-=-=-==--=-==--==--==--==-=-=-=-- I pretty much wacked the enter key thourhgout the install process, so all default values for the script were used I quess. What did I do wrong? Was it something compiled in the kernel? Do cats consume plastic? What IS this config file? I need this to work so very very very badly. Thank you. first-thought//giver-of-will |
