I have a big problem. I am trying to get direct rendering on FreeBSD 6.0
with Radeon 9550. I
have Xorg, libdrm and dri-devel installed (drm-kmod is standardly in
keernel). I have checked,
the r300_dri.so is compiled and in the right directory. Xorg.conf
contains Load "glx", Load "dri"
and Load "drm". I use the readeon driver. Permission for DRI is set to
0666. Drm and radeon
kernel modules are loaded (checked by kldstat). Drm recognizes my card
as Radeon 9600 AS
(checked with dmesg | grep drm). So it seems everything is fine, but
when I run X-Window, then
glxinfo still reports direct rendering: NO. Moreover xdriinfo reports
Xlib: "XFree86-DRI" extension not available for display 0:0. There is no
direct rendering support
for Screen 0. I checked my X.org.log. No errors, just a warning, that
direct rendering is not available
for Radeon 9500/9700 cards. So I'm a bit confused now. Does r300_dri.so
supposed to be the
3D driver for these cards? Is direct rendering for 9550 possible for
FreeBSD? I would greatly
appreciate some help.
