I just built the latest dri snapshot and successfully plugged the r128.o
kernel module into my 2.4.0-test1 kernel. So I fired up quake 3 demo, but I got
craptacular, impossibly slow software GL rendering.
So I got a root shell and tried running q3demo again. This time it didn't
start at all and instead came back with an error message with something to the
I'm using an ati rage fury, (not the rage fury pro).
It looks like I ran into 2 seperate issues here:
First, it looks like there's some security enforced on direct rendering that
keeps my rat-butt "mikep" user account from accessing it. Does anybody know how
I can turn
Second, does anybody know if the rage 128 driver is even finished? Has
anybody actually gotten the ATI rage 128 to do OpenGL acceleration under dri?
How? And what card were you using?
Finally, is r128.o the only module I need to "insmod?" or are there others
in that .../drm/kernel directory that need to go in too.
