This is the second report of an i810 user getting a black screen. In both cases the server log files submitted are incomplete. Something is going wrong here, but I don't know what it is. Can anyone familiar with the i810 driver comment? Lilian, Steph: could you provide one more data-point? When you started X and the screen is blank, can you switch virtual consoles or log in via ssh and check if the Xserver is still running (ps aux | grep X). The incomplete log files make me believe that the Xserver may be dying a rather horrible death for some reason in the middle of the driver initialization. Thanks, Felix Am Dienstag, den 06.12.2005, 22:42 +0800 schrieb Steph: > Hi All, >=20 > I have been trying to get DRI for my Fedora Core 4 install with no > luck. Ok, will bring my lap top home tomorrow so I can SSH in to this machine. |

Is that a possible cause of the problem? Since I compiled from source.. I can only guess that not all the modules I actually have installed where compiled / install, so some of the older modules where not over written.. although I though that the method detailed there would actually take care of compiling the correct modules, but I know that Fedora / Redhat have their own way of doing things sometimes :-( |

Yes, I just mean that everything is up to date on the system as I run yum almost every day. I built the RPM from sources as instructed on that page. Thanks, Steph |

I used to around the 300 fps, and now I get around 190 fps, even supertux feels slower :S. Im sure I am doing something wrong, but I don't know what. I'll attach my xorg.conf. Any help woudl be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! Oscar Estrada |

Unless the second gives the same or lower framerate acceleration seems to work somehow on your system. Philipp |

Try exporting LIBGL_DEBUG=3Dverbose. Then run glxgears. Do the same for glxinfo. Also provide the output of "ldd `which glxgears`" and "ldd `which glxinfo`". That should give some more insight into what's going on. Try export LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo and export LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxgears It might give some useful additional information. Philipp |

Hi=20 I do have a similar problem with i915 chip on my HP. I've installed the 6.9= =2Ex=20 snampshot of Xserver from Dri download page and the Dri snapshots (general= =20 and i915) from first of Dezember (or whatever was the latest at that time) = on=20 my machine. There are no errors regarding dri and drm in the logfiles but=20 glxinfo still reports that there is no direct rendering. Am Montag, 19.
