hi! * Configure your kernel. You might, for example, use make menuconfig and do the following: * Go to Code maturity level options * Enable Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers * hit ESC to return to the top-level menu * Go to Processor type and features * Select your processor type from Processor Family * hit ESC to return to the top-level menu * Go to Character devices * Disable Direct Rendering Manager (XFree86 DRI support) since we'll use the DRI code from the XFree86/DRI tree and will compile it there. * Go to /dev/agpgart (AGP Support) (EXPERIMENTAL) (NEW) * Hit SPACE twice to build AGP support into the kernel * Enable all chipsets' support for AGP * It's recommended that you turn on MTRRs under Processor type and Features, but not required. * Configure the rest of the kernel as required for your system (i.e. Ethernet, SCSI, etc) get the mach64 package from http://dri.sourceforge.net/snapshots/bleeding-edge/ and install it. i have ati rage mobility m & XFree86 4.2.0 and it works grat. ask if something is still not clear J5 > Hi, > > I've tried to make dri working on a IBM laptop equiped with an ati rage > mobility P/M. > > I don't know if I need R128 module, so I insmod it to be sure ... > I used the ati driver in my XFREE config file. > In the XFREE log I can see something like Xaa acceleration enabled > but not dri enabled ... :( > > Is somebody could tell me that he has successfully set up dri with > this card ??? > > thnaks a lot > > ps : I'm not on the list, so If U can CC me the answer .. |

I'm a mach64 (mobility) user, too and tried this package. It works really great, but there is one problem: xvideo extension seems to be disabled. (xvinfo tells me, that no adaptors are present). Is this known/fixable ? I think it worked before (4.2.0) regards, Markus Gaugusch -- _____________________________ /"\ Markus Gaugusch ICQ 11374583 \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign ma...@ga... This is something that will only be address when the 3D driver itself is more complete - 1-2 months. José Fonseca |
