I have a Radeon 64 MB DDR VIVO.
I recompiled kernel 2.4.18 a few times trying to fix this. When I compile=
AGPGART into the kernel or when I compile it as a module and load the mod=
everytime XFree starts up, the screen seems to be showing what was in the=
video ram at that time - usually the root background before I shut XFree =
and I guess whatever the console took up in the memory, the top of the sc=
has garbage. If AGPGART is not loaded or I supply the 'noaccel' option,=20
everything works fine, but I don't have any acceleration ofcourse.
The problem is that when AGPGART is loaded and I run XFree, the only thin=
can do is move my mouse around (the hardware cursor works fine) and kill =
Xserver, anything else will cause it to lock up and I have to remotely=20
restart the system. Then I haven't even loaded a WM yet, just clean XFree=
XFree86 version 4.2.0 from RPMS (Mandrake 8.2)
Any suggestions or sollutions?
