Summary: R128 kernel module hangs 2.4.0-test kernels
Details: Config :
Athlon 500, ATI Rage Fury AGP, Linux Kernel 2.4.0-test1, XFree4.0 CVS 10/12/2000
Perhaps its due to a change in the latest 2.4.0 kernels.
I compiled XFree and it runs fine, but when I want to use 3D accelerated demos of xscreensaver,
it runs fine but slow without the module. When I place the newly compiled module r128.o, it loads correctly
and the server start. But as soon as I try to use an OpenGL xscreensaver demo, I have a black screen,
with the pointer still visible and still working. But even if I can switch between virtual consoles, the screen
stays black. The keyboard is still working though, but the screen stays black. I use the libGLU of the last
Mesa version (3.4 I think). The libGL used is the XFree one.
