while attempting to hunt down and kill the usage errors we get from perfly
with performer town on voodoo3, I found a different work-around. That
usage error bug is still hiding from me, but perhaps this work-around will
make life a little more bearable than copy and pasting all the arguments
I've found that if you comment out the first four cmdline's and copy the
second two cmdline's down one, you can run "perfly town_ogl.perfly"
without it exiting with a usage error. Specifically, my cmdline section
of my town_ogl.perfly looks like the following:
# Options that could also be specified as command-line args to perfly...
#cmdline -N # Assign non-degrading priorities to Performer processes
#cmdline -L # Free then Lock down processes (requires root ID)
#cmdline -E tag # Earth sky mode -> tag clear
#cmdline -l 2 # Set lighting enable -> lighting sky
cmdline -2 # Tether
cmdline -E tag # Earth sky mode -> tag clear
cmdline -l 2 # Set lighting enable -> lighting sky
cmdline -p 2500,2500,2 -e 0,-0.10,0 # Initial view position and angle
cmdline -g 1 # GUI format -> GUI_VERTICAL
cmdline -F .:./town:/usr/share/Performer/data/town # Set file path
cmdline -v 0 # GUI format -> GUI_VERTICAL
cmdline town_ogl_pfi.pfb # Model
Also, I've found that commenting out the first two cmdline's in tux.perfly
will allow that one to work as well. Anyway, thought that might be of
interest to some people.
