I run 1.30 now, I'm going to investigate more now. Paul Heldens. |

The _only_ other problem I had with NWN was with the Miles Sound System ( or something like that ). I think I fixed it by adding the path to the Miles Sound System libraries to my /etc/ld.so.conf and running ldconfig, eg: /usr/local/games/nwn/miles or wherever you installed it. I have no idea whether this is your problem or not. Hope it is for your sake :) Dan |

You need this patch http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=2054806&forum_id=7177 for nwn to work (unless you're using the beta 3 client or older, you definitely need it for 1.29, haven't checked for 1.30 if it's still needed). Unfortunately this patch is not yet in the trunk as it might break other things. Seems like a chicken-and-egg problem, if it's not in the trunk almost nobody (except those people who need it to get something running) tests it, but without testing it won't make it into the trunk ;-). For the record, the patch runs fine here. Oh and if you make it past the Error, you might want to use R200_NO_TCL=1 as there are some issues with NWN - or try updating dri, the bugs might get fixed... Roland |

How many people need to report that this patch works and has no negative side effects before it gets merged in? Adam (who has been using this patch without any problems since it was first written) |

I'm OK with this going in. We're generally pretty good at committing patches, but sometimes they slip through. Try reposting with a [PATCH] designator to make it obvious that there's something that needs consideration, etc. Anyway, I'm going to hold off until Ian's issue is resolved. Keith |

I asked Dieter about this on 7/21, but I never received a response: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=dri-devel&m=105881698413310&w=2 Once that one issue is resolved, I will strongly recommend that Keith or Brian or somebody commit the patch. Due to IBM policy, I can't commit other people's patches, no matter how small or how important. :) |

It comes from Leif in the first place (two versions). I had resent the second one. Subjet was: Re: [Dri-devel] glXChooseVisual behaviour http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=dri-devel&m=105234913506530&w=2 > Once that one issue is resolved, I will strongly recommend that Keith or > Brian or somebody commit the patch. I never heard anything from Leif about my issue with the patch. I suspect that it won't be a problem, though. I've yet to hear of any use having problems with the patch applied. At this point, we may as well apply it. |
