OK so the driver seems *much* more stable now and I can actually use it
Having said this, unfortunately I have had a non-reproducable (as of
yet) kernel crash this morning. Following a reboot this morning:
1). I watched a DVD using xine (Xv) - shouldn't be a problem
2). played some quake3
3). loaded quake-gl and got sound loops with frozen image on screen
Interestingly, the quake-gl window was about half its normal size (or
less) when it loaded and didn't get placed right on the screen - when I
tried to move it, crash.
So I don't know how the r128 chipset works however I thought there might
be something in that "half size, moving causes crash" thing so I thought
I'd let you know.
Certainly the driver is much more *stable* but it's not quite there yet
- still, probably good enough for daily use now.
