http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4337 ------- Additional Comments From ai...@li... 2005-03-15 02:26 ------- Can you do some testing of -bk2, -bk6 as well? -bk2 should be fine, if -bk6 is broken then it is the multi-bridge AGP stuff that is broken, and if -bk6 works but -bk8 doesn't as you've said then it is my head splitting patch for the drm... ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. |

http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4337 ------- Additional Comments From m4r...@we... 2005-03-15 08:18 ------- -bk2 works fine, bk6 (and the current .3-bk1) have the same problem (or a similar^^) the screen is black in the upper part (to be exact 1/4, not 1/3) and the system is very laggy, it takes several seconds to switch to the first console. The mouse can be moved over the whole screen (including the black part), but as the system is laggy the mouse cant be used for anything (the movement is smooth!) The error-msg stayed the same. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. |

http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4337 ------- Additional Comments From jb...@en... 2005-03-16 12:14 ------- Nevermind, after looking at the log you already pasted, I don't think my patch will give us any additional info. It looks like AGP at least thinks it initialized properly, but obviously it didn't if your display doesn't work. Just to confirm, if you set BusType "PCI" in your xorg.conf does it avoid using agp and work ok? http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4337 ------- Additional Comments From jb...@en... 2005-03-17 08:40 ------- It belongs in the Device section corresponding to your card driver. E.g. Section "Device" Identifier "Generic Video Card" Driver "r128" Option "BusType" "PCI" EndSection I'm hoping that will prevent it from using the AGP interface so we can narrow down the cause of this problem. http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4337 ------- Additional Comments From jb...@en... 2005-03-17 10:08 ------- Oh right, I think DRM requires AGP if you have it enabled when you build it. You can try building your kernel w/o AGP support to see if that helps. If disabling AGP doesn't work, then we're probably looking at a drm or r128 problem here.
