Is there anyone planning to look at the code so that only the very OS-specific
stuff is found in the kernel drivers and the rest is abstracted out into a
common area? I see that the BSD drivers are an old hacked version of the Linux
drivers and are now suffering from severe bitrot. Doug Rabson who was the BSD
pointman for all this is busy with the SMP changes to the BSD kernel, plus
various Alpha & IA64 changes related to same. Are there any other volunteers?
