I’m a bit confused on how to get DRI working on my ATI Rage Mobility P/M 2x card. Josť Fonseca said that recently mach64 support was merged into DRI CVS head so the card should be supported – but that I should post my question here.

 

I am running FreeBSD 4.10 with XFree86 4.3.0 on a Dell Inspiron 7500 laptop.

 

My kernel is loading agp.ko as device agp0 and shows Intel 82443BX (440BX) host to PCI bridge

 

I did have agp_load=”YES” in my /boot/loader.conf but recently commented it out to see if it was causing problems – but it doesn’t seem to be effecting anything.

 

I also installed the /graphics/dri ports package and I can see it load when the kernel is loading it from /usr/local/etc/rc.d  but there is no mention of a device when I grep dmesg for it. There are no errors listed either. 

 

I searched to see if there is anything named mach64_dri module and/or driver but found none on my machine.

 

I am using the ATI-4.30-14 binaries from http://gatos.sourceforge.net/ati.2.php and XVideo appears to be working

… but programs complain that XFree86-DRI extension is missing. Specifically, †“Xlib: extension “XFree86-DRI” missing on display “:0.0”
