using CVS from 10-7-2000; whenever I run an app linked with libGLU.so.1.2 (taken from resources page) my X server hangs; I then ssh in and restart the system. This occurs when running XMMS GL Spec. Analyzer, and all xscreensaver-gl screensavers. The most success I've had is when running gears (xscreensaver)... it ran indefinitely; but when I moved the mouse it switched back to my wm (enlightenment) but was hung with black overlaying most of the screen area. What usually occurs is the screensaver causes the X server to hang almost immediately.. although using the Xfree4.0.1phase2 debs from; http://samosa.debian.org/~branden/woody/i386/ caused similar crashing behavior; when I replaced mga.o (kernel), mda_drv.o, and mga_dri.so (from 10-7-2000 CVS) and kept the remainder of the phase2 XF4.0.1; that's when I got the gears to render indefinitely; yet hang when returning to desktop (enlightenment).

In every instance of a crash the following error occurs in my kernel.log;

Oct 8 12:27:32 x86trASh kernel: [drm] AGP 0.99 on Intel 440BX @ 0xf8000000 64MBOct 8 12:27:32 x86trASh kernel: [drm] Initialized mga 2.0.1 20000928 on minor 63
Oct 8 12:31:26 x86trASh kernel: [drm:mga_fire_primary] *ERROR* num_dwords == 0
when dispatched
Oct 8 12:31:57 x86trASh last message repeated 440 times
Oct 8 12:32:25 x86trASh last message repeated 411 times

as far as DRi installation is concerned glxinfo returns all that is expected, as does the xserver startup output. Just for good measure here is most of my DRI related X startup info;
