Dear Steven: Thanks.. I ran "cat /proc/partitions" on client and it did not show me anything so you were right about the kernel it was pushing did not see my SCSI drives. So I ran "drblsrv -i" on server and configured the SAME kernel of my server to client and it worked (my client and server are 100% same HW specs) I can SAVE and RETORE the disks from clients, everything working for LINUX clients cloning/restore and windows clone/backup only. Now another two main problem I am facing for windows restore: 1) When I restore my Windows 2000 Sever image to SAME HARDWARE, NEW Hard drive of 100% same specs. It restores and when windows boot screen comes on with progress bar i get Blue screen which says ------------------------ "*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0x818B51B0, 0xC00000010, 0x00000000,0x00000000) INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check for viruses on your computer. remove any newly installed hardware or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption and then restart your computer, --------------------------- I tried restoring with DD method [-j0 Use dd to create partition table instead of sfdisk ] but same error. 2) Then i tried SYSPREP for windows to eliminate PC info and during CLONING it get error/warning NTFS is corrupted [my windows install is not corrupted as the original install boots and just fine and no errors in windows] Then restoring from the SYSPREP image also i get same error above. Any pointers if i can try some option in restore. If i pick [-j0] option do i need the TOP option of GURB also or not. Sorry for asking so many questions but i really like your software and trying my best to use it on our network. Thanks again. Raj |
