I am not sure if this is the right forum. Please direct me to the correct one if this is incorrect.

I have a 128GB SSD in a laptop that is encrypted with Symantec and has Windows 7 Enterprise installed. I'd like to clone the drive and install a 256GB SSD. I can not install both drives in the laptop at the same time. I do have a 1 TB data drive installed with 650 GB Free.
What is the best "method" to clone my 128 drive and get it on the 256 drive. will the encryption be an issue? I was planning to use Live to Save an Image, then swap SSD's and Load the image back into the 256. Is this a good strategy?

    Thanks

Option 1 : use an external USB device for 256GB SSD
Option 2 : save the backup files to 1TB data drive as you mentioned

But I'm not quite sure about encrypted part. Since Clonezilla backup blocks, it should work when you have the encryption key somewhere to decrypt the data.
Please keep the original partition size and don't try to do auto partition resize when restore backup files to 256GB SSD. You might need other tool to resize encrypted disk.
