hello all! I have a Linux Ubuntu 12.04 running the previous version of DRBL (\opt\drbl...) and everything was working fine for the 2012 dell machines. We received a new model (workstation T3600) and allways when it boot through pxe, it stops at the middle of the boot process and does not give any error..
In the past when it happened we updated the ubuntu version and drbl and worked fine.
Tried to create a new virtual machine with two network nics using ubuntu (12.04 and 12.10), installed new drbl, everything following the web instructions, but it allways stop on the client mac addr:xxxxx, client ip: xxxx, mask:xxxxx , dhcp ip:xxxxxx, gateway ip: xxxxxx... _ (cursor blinking)
and not happens.. anyone already had the same behavior/problem??
Tried in different versions of ubuntu , but no way.. tried using the default drbl configuration, and no way..
any tip??
Thanks
Ricardo

Ricardo, your original problem was likeley because the NIC driver of the new T3600 wasn't included in your kernel.
Secondly, I have wasted a lot of company and personal time trying to install DRBL on a new system. I've used DRBL for 3 years and haven't had problem configuring a system before. However, during Mid-October 2013, I have not been able to successfully configure a DRBL server.
As a temporary solution, I've been using DRBL-live but I would like to have a non-volitile system of my own again T_T

"during Mid-October 2013, I have not been able to successfully configure a DRBL server. " -> On which GNU/Linux do you have problem install and configure DRBL?
Steven.

.. more info, drblsrv -i, drblpush -i and dcs run on the server side without any problem. Tried using a physical machine with two networks cards.. same problem.. where am I doing wrong??? getting crazy... Thanks

If so, are you sure the network connection is right?
I believe you can find some clues in the DRBL's system log files, e.g. /var/log/syslog, /var/log/messages...

that I should check the server logs, as well as restart my server. I've done that, and even done a tcpdump on TFTPD when it loads.
Nothing useful appears (the tcpdump.log is just two lines, saying my client makes an RRQ to pxelinux.0 and then stops (I've let the server sit for an hour just to see if it was taking a really long time)).
Has anybody figured out why this happens?

Hello Steven, yes, on the pxe boot. this was tested in a vmware machine, but also installed on a physical machine and the same happened..
So no clues in DRBL server's system log files, e.g. /var/log/syslog, /var/log/messages...?
Steven.
Hi,
I'm having a similar issue with my group of computers as well (posted it to the clonezilla forums).
Steven, you mentioned (in my previous post): https://sourceforge.net/p/clonezilla/discussion/Clonezilla_server_edition/thread/91d260f6/
that I should check the server logs, as well as restart my server. I've done that, and even done a tcpdump on TFTPD when it loads.

Sometimes a linux kernel bug, a network driver issue, or tftpd program itself might have bug. Therefore maybe you can try different versions of them.
Steven.
add tcp69 to pass through your firewall (tftp protocol)
