I need to ship out a replacement HD for a point of sale terminal, but don't have an identical computer to do this on.
Is there a way to restore an image to a blank HD this way?
If I put HD in an old Dell desktop, boot off of my DVD or USB & restore to that new HD, will it work when replacing in the computer with bad HD?

Which OS do you have? If you restore the image to the new HD, then poweroff Clonezilla live,
move the new HD to the computer, normally it should work.
Remember do not boot the OS from the restored HD on your Dell desktop after it's restored.
