Thinkpad x131e Laptop hang on imaging

Whenever I attempt to image the model of laptop above, it hangs about 70% through the imaging process.
It seems spotty, sometimes it works, but it is only 1/30 that actually image. We've tried it with several images built on the hardware.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you sure the hardware is flawless?
Did you do a memtest first?
Or did you try different version of Clonezilla live, e.g. 20130909-saucy?
