I did not see my answer in FAQ so ... probably I am not understanding what is going on... My goal is to use CloneZilla to create a ".img" file. A single file.img that I can ... restore to another Hdd later.
I have booted Parted Magic and used Clonezilla to make a whole disk image of my boot drive which is running Ubuntu18 plus some additional software I have installed.
I connected a 250Gb external drive via USB to store the image files.
When I run clonezilla it creates an image directory but, I was expecting a single file.
Instead I got a directory with the Image Name which contain lots of files??
The restore process works great and I can restore the image folder to an empty hdd/sdd with no problem but...
Not sure how to get the image directory to say... a bootable USB that can simply restore the image to a new HDD for me. (end goal)

The image for Clonezilla is actually a directory, not a single file.
