You read that right folks. This post is all about that amazing 4.20 kernel coming down the pipe in just a few hours to all Drauger OS installations!
This kernel, which will be updating things like CPU and graphics support and drivers, comes with a number of performance and security benefits just due to how some of the new code is written. But, more importantly, this kernel release comes with both Nvidia RTX Ray-Tracing support, and support for AMD's Adaptive Refresh technology: FreeSync.
Both of these updates will help gamers get the best experience possible. And while there are likely to be bugs in both, those bugs should be smoothed out over time. So, if you happen to run into any bugs, please report them to https://github.com/zen-kernel/zen-kernel/issues (the Liquorix kernel is a branch of the ZEN kernel for any who are curious.)
But, what the Drauger OS team is excited about, it that Drauger OS 7.4.1 Beta 2 should be one of the first distros to ship with this 4.20 kernel, and by extension support for RTX Ray-Tracing and AMD FreeSync, by default!
We look forward to how this looks in the Stable Release!
Sincerely,
Thomas Castleman
