Well. This has been an active week.
Hey guys. So this week, Drauger OS has had a new record high. This week, we had the highest number of downloads in one day of all time: 332 downloads!!! This is insane! Seeing the number of downloads of Drauger OS spike like this was great. There have also been two different videos about Drauger OS posted on YouTube (Granted, one was a little, per se, critical? But any feedback is good feedback!)
To those of you new to the Drauger OS community, welcome! To those of you who have been around for a little, thanks for hanging with ut!
Today, We are announcing that the code name for Drauger OS 7.4.1 will be (drum roll please!) Jiangshi!
The Jiangshi is Chinese for "Zombie" (when ran through Google Translate) and is pronounced "Jaangshee"
In Chinese Folklore a Jiangshi is (according to Wikipedia):
A jiangshi, also known as a Chinese "hopping" vampire, is a type of reanimated corpse in Chinese legends and folklore. "Jiangshi" is read goeng-si in Cantonese, cương thi in Vietnamese, gangshi in Korean, kyonshī in Japanese, and "hantu pocong" in Malay and Indonesia. It is typically depicted as a stiff corpse dressed in official garments from the Qing Dynasty, and it moves around by hopping, with its arms outstretched. It kills living creatures to absorb their qi, or "life force", usually at night, while in the day, it rests in a coffin or hides in dark places such as caves.
Drauger OS 7.4.1 was delayed in develpment for a few days due to Hurricane Florence coming through our local area. However, our area did not suffer any major damage and so development has already picked back up! There is no set release date yet for Drauger OS 7.4.1 Beta 1, however we hope to have it released by mid-to-late-November at the latest.
Right now, our biggest hold up is the custom xboxdrv
daemon that comes built into Drauger OS. We hope to have the new version available on Drauger OS 7.3.7 before we release Drauger OS 7.4.1 which will come with it pre-installed. If you wish to find the code for this development version, you can find it here on Github.
Thank you to everyone who uses Drauger OS. It means a great deal to us here at Drauger OS Development.
Sincerely,
Thomas Castleman
