Hello All, =20 We have been draconet users for years and while I think Draconet is a superior product to CruiseControl (currently), I think CCNet has a lot more energy around it and a more active community. =20 This is a bit of a dilemma to us and we are actually running both in production for different reasons, but I think ultimately in the long run CCNet will be able to do most of the things that Draco does better currently as it seems to be much more active.=20 =20 So without going into the things I would love to see draconet do, are there any goals here for the draconet project? I would love to see draconet continue to grow as it is a great project! =20 Thanks Guys! |

Cool. Does anybody know if single, one of schedules are possible, such as every day at 1pm, every week on the same day at a specific time etc? I was messing around with Draco today, building it under VS2005b2. In the BuildQueue class, there is a piece of code which returns from inside a lock statement *after* doing a Monitor.Exit. Under the 2.0 runtime, this throws a SynchronizationLockException. I'm assuming the construct is illegal in 1.x as well, but the runtime doesn't flag it. There also seems to be a potential race condition here, since the runSet list is accessed outside the monitor. The included patch corrects this. Can I commit? Interesting...I could also see Draco including other "reports" with its build messages. For example, xunit report on the execution of test cases, maybe some code metrics generated by something, etc. Maybe it would scan for certain files and if present, include them in the notification or you can specify which "reports" to include in each build as part of the build configuration. Something like <build> ... <reports> <report name=3D"NUnit Report"> <xml name=3D"testresults.xml" /> <xslt name=3D"testreport.xslt" /> </report> ... </reports> </build> Draco would just be able to apply a xslt file to a xml file and append it to the build notification. It would still be up to the build script to produce the xml data. Just thinking out loud...=20 =20 >-----Original Message----- >From: dra...@li...=20 >[mailto:dra...@li...] On=20 >Behalf Of Bryan D. Hi, My colleague attempted to upgrade to the latest version of Draco, and has met some problems. Assume we have a project structure in VSS: ProjectA ProjectB ProjectC Project... Our master.build is immediately under ProjectA. In the builds config, we set the project to GET to be $/ProjectA. However the directory that is created by Draco is ProjectA-XXXXXX where XXXXX are date and time details. Underneath this ProjectA-XXXXXX directory sits the retrieved directory ProjectA: c:\program files\draconet\source\projectA-XXXXX\ProjectA However Nant is invoked from the ProjectA-XXXXX location, and an error is thrown by Nant - no master build file found. I dont have all the details with me, but this is in essence what is happening, and I am wondering if something has changed regarding how the source code is retrieved - 1.6 is our version I believe (about a year old). Hi guys, I havent been active for a long time, but I recently started using Clover.NET as a code-coverage tool to aid in my agile development at work. I realised open source projects can obtain developer licenses. I have taken the liberty of contacting Cenqua to request free developer licenses for Draco, and that have accepted it. The email is at the bottom of this message: Warm regards, nick robinson fromConcept.co.uk site : www.fromconcept.co.uk blog : www.fromconcept.co.uk/weblog.aspx draco : www.sourceforge.net/projects/draconet Cenqua mail: Hi Nick, Thank you for helping the community by developing open source software. We are pleased to support you by providing you with a free license. We're sure it will help your project. Download your license(s) here: http://www.cenqua.com/licenses.jspa We would really appreciate it if you would put a link or two on your project homepage. As well as letting your developers know that there is a free license available, it lets your users know that you care about test quality. Am I right in assuming that your solution file exists at the $/ level? If= =20 so, have you tried (using the latest version of Draco) something like this= =20 for your Draco.builds.config file: ... <build> <name>YourProject</name> ... (fill in options for NAnt, Vs.Net <http://Vs.Net>, etc) <vss> <project>$/</project> <username>user</username> <password>pwd</password> <ssdir>\\vss\dir$</ssdir> </vss> </build> ... I believe that Draco would then recursively get all subfolders of $/... We do something like this for our solution, but our project exists in a=20 folder like $/project/. Draco then gets all subfolders of that VSS=20 project... thus, a dev can add a project to the solution and Draco will=20 automatically pick up those changes. Hope that helps... To configure draco to get and build a solution, I have to set up the .config file with all the projects in my solution: <sourcecontrol type="multi"> <sourceControls> <vss autoGetSource="true" applyLabel="false"> <project>"$/Project1"</project> <username>user</username> <password>pwd</password> <ssdir>\\vss\dir$</ssdir> <workingDirectory>d:\BuildDir</workingDirectory> </vss> <vss autoGetSource="true" applyLabel="false"> <project>"$/Project2"</project> <username>user</username> <password>pwd</password> <ssdir>\\vss\dir$</ssdir> <workingDirectory>d:\BuildDir</workingDirectory> </vss> .... </sourceControls> We have updwards of 15 projects in our solution. So maintaining this list gets tedious to say the least; and if a developer adds a project to the solution without updating the draco .config file, of course everything breaks (and draco is very poor about reporting this -- it often just doesn't build, and doesn't email/report the problem). I'm not clear on why any of this is necessary (and maybe draco already provides this solution !). When I open a .sln file with Visual Studio.NET, it is able to resolve all the projects listed in the .sln file, get them from VSS, and all is well, just given the .sln file. Is there nothing in draco that will let me specify *merely* the path to my .sln file in VSS, and that will let draco to the rest? That is, I'd like to give Draco the VSS location of my .sln file, have it grab it, parse it and figure out what projects it needs from VSS (again, this is was Visual Studio does), grab them and build them. If there is nothing like this in draco, is there any interest in such an extension ? Jeff |

Hi all, I'm experiencing something weird with my draco install. I have the CVS version of Draco from Monday March 28th, so it's up to date... I have it setup so that Draco runs each day at noon. it only has one build module defined, but for some reason, it builds it twice. Any help is appreciated. This is what my draco.builds.config looks like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <draco xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://www.chive.com/draco"> <pollperiod>31449600</pollperiod> <mailserver>mail.mydomain.com</mailserver> <fromaddress>dr...@my...</fromaddress> <builds> <build> <alwaysbuild>false</alwaysbuild> <name>MyModule</name> <polltime>12:00</polltime> <notification> <file> <dir>C:\Data\BuildLogs</dir> <create>true</create> </file> <email> <recipient>jg...@gm...</recipient> </email> </notification> <ignorechanges> <ignore user="draco" /> </ignorechanges> <nant program="C:\Program Files\NAnt\bin\nant.exe"> <buildfile>MyProject\Source\default.build</buildfile> <targets>release clean build apidocs fxcop run.unittests package</targets> </nant> <vss> <project>$/MyProject/Source/</project> <username>draco</username> <password>draco</password> <ssdir>\\192.168.1.2\VSS</ssdir> </vss> </build> </builds> </draco> thanks for any insight JIm |

make sure that the name of the specified module is "draco" I've included a screenshot, in case that helps... Jim On Sat, 26 Mar 2005 17:57:50 -0500, Bryan D. I was able to fix this problem in the latest cvs check-in.
