I now run a very diverse environment myself, but I don't know how I would cope without DQSD. The first app I install on new computers is now Synergy (http://synergy-project.org/), the second - on Windows - is DQSD. The third is Roboform. I run 6 desktops and 2 laptops in my office and 5 still run Windows. Roboform does a lot of the simple stuff I had coded around within DQSD, but it'll never provide the same range of capabilities. I had setup a website a few years ago to handle some of the searches so I could integrate them into a browser, but even with SSL the potential for it to be exploited to harvest data from me was just too risky. I don't know how I would function without DQSD. Sure, there are several alternatives now, but they don't have the same scope. They're ONLY search tools, not administrative, or capable of running apps and so on. -Shawn > -----Original Message----- > From: Kim Gräsman [mailto:kim...@gm...] > Sent: Friday, December 19, 2014 11:51 AM > To: DQSD development discussions > Subject: Re: [DQSD-Devel] January 12, 2016 could be the end of DQSD :( > > Hey all, > > I'm listening in here, less and less actively. > > I'm actually in the process, tonight, of installing FreeBSD on a new > machine, to abandon Windows for good.
