Henry,
We don't think there's an easy way to get DPubS to display URLs
differently than it does (at least in the browser address display).
There are probably ways to do this, but they will likely be difficult
and/or tricky, especially if you have or will have multiple publications.
I'm a little worried, thought, that we don't exactly understand what
you're trying to do. So maybe some examples would help.
It is relatively easy to ensure that existing URLs will resolve to
the right place, using apache redirects. It's the altering of
'outgoing' links that puzzles me--I'm not sure I understand why you'd
want to do this. But I may be missing something.
In our published material, we've now displaying on the abstract page
a complete link to that page, calling it a "permanent link". For example:
http://projecteuclid.org/euclid.annm/1185985453
If need to migrate services, that's the link we're promising to preserve.
