Hows this for a solution: a hack to dproxy-nexgen to get its upstream DNS servers from /etc/resolv.conf instead of its config file? It could periodically (like every minute) check to see if /etc/resolv.conf has changed, and if it has, grab the nameservers out of there. How does that sound?
